                                                        Dos, Don'ts, and Tips
Do:
  • Wash car at least every 2 wks......This will help remove surface contaminants before they damage clear-coat
  • Wax vehicle at least every 2-3 months..... (I do mine once a month and car never ages)
  • Condition leather once a month...This can help keep leather from becoming dry, brittle, and ripping.
  • Get carpets cleaned at least once a year....It will help keep carpets free of food, candy, etc. and help battle odor
  • Vacuum car out at least once a month....This can help remove embedded debris, dirt, etc. from carpet and seats that can cause damage to carpets and seats.
Don't :
  • Wash your vehicle with dish soap... any car wash soap will do
  • Use those green dish scrubbing pads to get bugs off.... they will scratch clear-coat
  • Park your car near a sprinkler..... you will get hard water spots on clear-coat have to high speed off
  • Let your car dry in the sun......you will get hard water spots
  • Use well water to clean vehicle......the abundant calcium and iron deposits in water will damage clear-coat
  • Leave bugs on your car longer 36 hrs.....they will damage clear-coat
  • Use any window cleaner with ammonia on windows with tint......Its bad and will damage tint
  • Leave pens on seats.....They bust and leave an awful mess
  • Put armor-all on leather......Not a good chemical to have on leather
  • Put pam on the front bumper to avoid bug damage.....use wax in place of if so desire
  • allow animals weighing over 35 lbs on leather......it will scratch and rip holes and be very costly
  • Clean rims when they are hot.....much easier to clean
  • Leave car under trees, esp. pine....oaks leave trees sap that can be easily removed (not as bad ass pine) and birds sit and defecate in the trees
Tips:
  • Wash the car in shade.....if can't, wash side not facing sun first
  • Keep car sprayed down as to not let any water spots start drying prematurely
  • Use a "California Waterblade,"  synthetic squeegee (rag), and blower to dry car
  • You can use fabric softener sheets to get lovebugs off (just wet sheets).....make sure get off residual softener
  • If you use sheets, wax area after......softener may take off some wax
  • I've heard Gojo hand cleaner helps to get pen off leather.....worth trying
